A recent rewatch of the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness” pleasantly surprised me with its opening lines: The protagonist didn’t meet his father ‘til the age of 28, and had vowed that he’d always keep his own family together.
Those lines put his diehard dedication to provide for his son in an enlightening context, - no? - going beyond the clichèd chivalrous values [not that there’s anything wrong with those!].
This photo-quote just reminds me of the blessings I have in life, the ones that the abovementioned protagonist was so close to losing! =)
